MediTek Stairlifts HistoryCorporate HistoryMediTek Ltd, an English company, provides stairlifts and accessories to the global market. MediTek maintains the highest level of safety, operational effectiveness, and above all, quality.
MediTek was founded in 1992 when Kevin Strafford-Price and Derek Nicholson, both with experience in stairlift manufacture and engineering, decided to design a product far superior to what was available at that time. Within four years, MediTek was well positioned in the market.
The management team has developed a company which today employs 30 people and operates from two continents. Kevin maintains a high degree of drive in managing the company and getting the most out of MediTeks' employees and suppliers.
Speaking to Derek, we discovered the history behind the company. Q. | Derek, what attributes of MediTek are you most proud of in terms of historical developments? | A. | If I could start by saying that we have always held the belief that we could offer better value for money through superior manufacturing standards and lower unit price. Historically, we have seen that our accessories and safety systems have provided the edge we need to be successful. |
Derek is based in the England Manufacturing facility in Durham, where he oversees the manufacturing process with MediTek's Production Manager, Tom Cummings.
2004 has been an exciting year so far for MediTek, the highlight being the introduction of the MK1G, the first truly global stairlift that MediTek has produced.
With more advances being planned by management for 2005/6, MediTek prides itself on developing cutting edge technology in stairlift manufacture.
